Heritage’s Chef Sharma launches Bauji Bistro in Worthing
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol servedThe chef behind London’s acclaimed Indian eatery Heritage has opened a new restaurant in the south of the country.
Chef Dayashankar Sharma has added another site to his portfolio with the launch of Bauji Bistro in Worthing.
Located on Rowlands Road, Chef Sharma has confirmed with FtLion that while alcohol is served on the premises, the food menu is fully Halal.
After helping London’s now defunct Grand Trunk Road achieve a 5/5 rating by FtLion in 2017, which then went on to win the #FtLionAwards 2017 ‘Restaurant of the Year’, he repeated the feat again in 2021 with Heritage in Dulwich securing a perfect rating.
The award-winning chef has now opened Bauji which draws on the Hindi word for ‘father’, and offers a menu that reflects “Sharma’s interpretation of Indian comfort cooking” by drawing on his childhood experiences in Rajasthan.
From the Small Plates, which include Gunpowder Broccoli and Samphire Onion Bhajis, to Grills such as Lamb Chops and his signature Shatkora Jhinga, there’s also curries and biryanis.
