Chaiiwala take hilarious swipe at ‘copycats’ with Fakeawala cups

The UK’s leading Halal chai business has taken a swipe at “all the copycats out there” with a publicity stunt they have dubbed “Fakewala cups”.

For a limited time only, Chaiiwala will be serving their tea in cups that carry the logo “original fake – keep trying”.

The chai brand is encouraging its followers to post images of them holding the cup in front of chaiiwala copycat businesses.

Posting the news on social media, Chaiiwala announced: “For all the copycats out there, Keep trying! Find our new Limited time only ‘Fakewala cups’ in stores from this week!

“Make sure to snap photos of them in front of some of your local chaiiwala copycat for a chance to feature in our next Fakewala post! [sic]”

With their Instagram post having elicited almost 150 comments in a matter of hours, Chaiiwala suggested: “We need a part 2!”
