Chance to meet boxer Amir Khan at new Famz Doner Kebab

A new doner kebab brand that’s scheduled to launch this weekend is currently running a competition (more details below) where the winner will be able to meet and dine with former world boxing champion Amir Khan.

Famz Doner Kebab on Cranbrook Road will also be celebrating its grand opening this Saturday 16 October at 4pm by offering the first 100 customers a free meal followed by 50% off the entire menu.

While there’s plenty of Halal food options in Gants Hill, this latest addition will no doubt be aiming to give established rival German Doner Kebab a serious run for its money.

If the name sounds familiar then it ought to, since the folks behind this venture are also behind the well-established Famz Peri Peri takeaway across the road.

And they’re definitely up for the competition too having not only sourced both their premium beef and chicken doner kebab from across the shores in France, but also installed a tandoor.

Having hired a tandoor specialist who’s job it is to ensure a continuous flow of naans for their kebabs, that should give you an idea of the direction these guys are taking.

Famz Doner Kebab looks the part too, with an attractive yellow and black colour scheme, and comfortable boothed-seating available for around 25 guests.

Having entertained bloggers during the previous weekend, the restaurant is ready to serve its selection of 10 doner kebab naan sandwiches, doner kebab burgers, and doner kebab boxes.

But that’s not all, in addition to a number of decadent desserts which includes the choice of an apple tart, a creamy opera cake, or a Nutella doughnut, but also a range of drinks Minutemaid and Oasis beverages.

Looking back at the reviews that have alreadybeen published, one blogger has posted a glowing review stating that “the doner meat [is] not greasy; accompanied with salad and sauces, it all tasted so delicious!

“The portion sizes for both meals were quite large and filling! The bun for the sandwich was so soft, and had a great amount of meat filled in!

“The treats we chose were both divine! Nutella doughnut was so soft and delectable, as was the apple tart! Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Famz Doner! We will be definitely heading back to try out more from their menu!”
