Kushi restaurant, who were voted by readers of Echo as 2020’s Best Eat Out To Help Out venue in Essex, launched their fifth venue yesterday.

Located on 1 Derry Avenue in South Ockendon, they’ve taken over The Knight of Aveley and will be operating a takeaway delivery service during lockdown.

In addition to covering Ockendon, South Ockendon, Rainham, Upminster, Purfleet, Purfleet-on-Thames, and Aveley, there’s also a generous discount to grab.

All five of their restaurants, which includes in Romford, Grays, Canvey Island, and Brentwood, are offering upto 30% off during January using code: ‘KUS30’ on their website.

For those of you who don’t know, the people behind Kushi are also behind the impressive luxury restaurant DUSK which FtLion reviewed in 2019.

Translated as ‘happy’ in Bengali, Kushi launched its first branch in 2013 and is a family-run, independant, Bangladeshi restaurant which, while operating a BYO policy, offers a fully Halal food menu.

The brand has been busy donating meals across the Essex county to elderly homes, the vulnerable, and NHS staff, who can use code: ‘TNKU20’ on their website for a 20% discount during lockdown.

Boasting a top 10 position on TripAdvisor for Best Restaurant in Essex, they currently offer a free delivery service that covers a 3-4 mile radius.
