P.F. Chang’s Launches in London with Halal Chicken

HALAL STATUS UPDATE (16-8-17) Expanded Halal menu with zero risk of cross-contamination. No dishes contain any alcohol.

HALAL STATUS Halal chicken only prepared with zero risk of cross-contamination.

P.F. Chang’s finally touched down in the UK this month with a 138-cover eatery in Soho, London.

But what’s even more exciting is the news that its Covent Garden site has confirmed with us that not only is all its chicken Halal, but that it’s prepared entirely separately from the pork on the menu with zero risk of any cross-contamination.

A house-hold name across the US, and with over 280 sites worldwide since 1993, including the Middle East and Asia, it’s not surprising, given London’s sizeable Muslim community, that this Asian-themed casual dining restaurant is testing the water through the introduction of Halal.

It would nevertheless be advisable to check beforehand regarding the use of any alcohol in cooking, or if pork might be used as an ingredient in any of their dishes.

What makes its London branch different to its US counterparts is the introduction of brunch, with dishes including the ‘Everything Bao’ – sliced smoked salmon and boiled egg in a honey lotus bun.

In addition, new lunch and dinner options will also be available for the British palate, such as the Fish and Lotus Chips – crispy black cod tossed with spring onion, ginger and black bean with a side of lotus crisps.

As for chicken dishes, then keep an eye out for their signature Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps – “a secret Chiang family recipe” – along with a whole range of others available on their ‘Main Entrées – Chicken’ section.
