The good news is that, apart from a dedicated ‘Contemplation Room’ ideal for fulfilling one’s daily prayers, there’s also a number of Halal and Halal-friendly spots we’ve discovered.

So while you go about your shopping spree amidst the Village’s beautiful settings and cultural richness, here’s a list of eateries worth checking out.

Bicester Village Halal restaurantsThe Farmshop is a huge, 240-cover “restaurant & cafe” that’s quite unique in that they are the only eatery at Bicester Village who have gone out of their way to offer a separate Halal menu.

While this menu is available on request, the most important thing is Farmshop management’s assurance that everything is prepped and cooked separately.

Bicester Village Halal restaurantsThe menu focuses on rustic British food that ranges from old-fashioned classics to hearty farmhouse dishes.

The restaurant itself is unique, with cobblestone floors, barn doors and exposed wooden beams paying respect to the Oxfordshire countryside.

With two private dining spaces and outdoor terrace seating, there’s also a stylish little food vendor parked directly outside for quick grab ‘n’ goes.

CAFE WOLSELEY

Café Wolseley is the latest venture from restaurateurs Corbin & King, and is named after their long-standing London flagship The Wolseley in Piccadilly.

Bicester Village Halal restaurantsThis particular branch is their first outside London and serves as an all-day café-cum-restaurant, with a takeaway counter.

But here’s the important detail: they cater for Halal chicken, with two dishes, namely the chicken burger and the chicken pot, being available on the menu.

While the former is deep-fried in a frier dedicated exclusively for this purpose, the latter, we’ve been informed by the manager, is also cooked and prepped separately.

SHAN SHUI

Paying homage to the best of Asian cuisine, Shan Shui says it follows “time-honoured recipes and working only with the freshest ingredients sourced locally”.

Again one that prefers to remain neutral, i.e. it’s not designated Halal on Bicester Village’s website; nevertheless, we’ve been informed by the manager that all meat is Halal, with no alcohol used as an ingredient, though served on the premises.

Inspired by 1920s Shanghai, the restaurant’s décor features a myriad of textures, colours and textiles, which is a nod to city’s most glamorous era. The menu features a selection of Chinese culinary wonders along with popular South-East Asian favourites. It also boasts a range of bite-sized Dim Sum that are steamed fresh daily.
