The Sushi Co opens in London Tower Bridge

HALAL STATUS Fully Halal

The Sushi Co opened a restaurant in south east London’s Tower Bridge last week.

Located on Tower Bridge Road, this is the Japanese brand’s 22nd site overall with its flagship situated in Cambridge.

Led by former large-scale Papa John’s franchisee Raheel Choudhary, the brand’s owner has confirmed that the entire menu is fully Halal.

Although Japanese sushi chefs traditionally use a wheat based soy sauce, which can contain a small percentage of alcohol due to the process of fermentation, The Sushi Co has sourced both a wheat- and gluton-free soy sauce.

Aside from a good range of Hosomaki, Uramaki, Nigiri, Sashimi, Tataki, and Futo Maki, watch out for their Super Mix sushi box, as well as large Prawn Pokebowl, and a number of hot meals like Chicken Stir Fried Noodles.
