London’s Meet Bros continue to astound with new Shoreditch site
SPONSORED CONTENT HALAL STATUS Fully HalalÂIt was only a matter of time, given the phenomenal response of Meet Bros first site in London Paddington, before a second would follow.
Having taken the capital by storm in 2023 with a resplendent interior like no other Halal steakhouse in the country, Meet Bros has now arrived in east London’s Shoreditch.
This two-storey restaurant is located on the corner of King John Court and New Inn Yard, with Shoreditch High Street overground station just around the corner.
While this latest may not boast a basement conversion as unique as its sister-site, it nonetheless boasts a stunningly conceived, modern interior.
With a waiting area and a huge non-alcoholic bar situated downstairs, the action takes place upstairs amidst a spacious setting, with a contrasting colour scheme that succeeds in creating a moody atmosphere.
Meet Bros’ fully Halal menu doesn’t just offer the very best Halal steaks in London, but also an exciting number of new dishes exclusive to this restaurant.
Meet Bros’ eclectic menu boasts a range of cuisines
What makes Meet Bros stand out from the crowd is how they push the boundaries of creativity by constantly updating their menu with innovative food items.
To this end, they have a number of new items that are worth travelling for, including a Steak Sando brioche sandwich with Australian Striploin, a heady truffle mayo that’s beautifully tempered by Korean BBQ Sauce, and fish roe for that touch of luxury.
Two others worth a punt is the Sweet Spicy Chicken Wings, which are enveloped in a tantalising sticky glaze, and the Asian Prawn Crostini, whose crispy pastry exterior gives way to a moist prawn filling, and comes with a superb Thai chilli mayo.
Getting to the meat and bones of it all, then Meet Bros serve up a stupendous Black Angus Ribeye from their Prime Cuts section, which also makes available Wagyu, Tomahawk, T-bone, Porterhouse, and Australian Grain Fed.
Not only did the perfectly-aligned griddle marks exemplify cooking of the highest calibre, but cutting through this well-seasoned, tender steak revealed a juicy, mouth-watering pink interior that was bang on medium.
With a bar set as high as this, it only makes sense to put in an order for the Fillet Mignon from their Mains, which comes with a Chimichurri Butter Sauce, Potato Crust, and Mushroom Ragout.
This plate of food was, as can be seen, picture perfect, with a dreamily soft and beautifully grilled steak of exceptional quality, paired with crispy potato cubes that had a good bite to them, and an earthy mushroom concoction with plenty of butter to boot.
Meet Bros Pasta section is just one example of why their all-round menu is so well renowned, boasting as it does eight entirely different dishes, with some you simply will not find elsewhere, like the Lobster Pesto Fettuccine or the Shredded Duck Aglio Olio.
In this case, the Grilled Asian Prawn Fettuccine had the taste of those exquisitely grilled crustaceans running through the entire dish, with the glistening al dente pasta wonderfully coated in olive oil and a chilli-tomato base.
If you’re after a rice dish, then it has to be the Japanese Wagyu Fried Rice, which comes with Chilli Oil to ensure some heat add a kick to things, Pickled Cucumber as a palate cleanser, and Kimchi to bring some acidity.
With a light and airy Japanese omelette draped over a mound of sticky rice, and topped with deliciously seasoned Wagyu beef, this dish will have you enthralled right until the last bite.
Be sure to finish off proceedings with a dessert, because Meet Bros have five choices that are as comparable to anything mentioned above, including a Baked Apple Filo Pastry with plenty of soothing vanilla custard.
Or you might consider their decadent Pineapple Pudding Turnover, which comes with toffee cream and caramelised toffee sauce, in addition to a scoop of vanilla ice cream to help cut through that richness.
When it comes to their menu, this new branch in Shoreditch easily matches up to the brilliance of their prestigious site in Paddington.
With an eclectic menu that encompasses a range of cuisines, the above proves why Meet Bros is considered one of London’s top fully Halal restaurants.
In short, there’s really only one place to visit in London if you’re after cutting-edge modern Halal cuisine.
