If there was one thing missing in west London’s Hammersmith, it was a restaurant that offers authentic Indo-Pakistani cuisine.

Well Karahi Wala has ticked that box on Fulham Palace Road, with food that’s cooked in traditional Karahi pots learned by past generations of the family-run business.

There’s more to this place, however, than meets the eye, for the good folks behind this venture are also behind the established burger brand Chicago Grill just a couple of doors down.

Anyone who knows of them will know that not only will everything at Karahi Wala be freshly prepared on a daily basis, but the food guaranteed to be uncompromisingly full of flavour.

One sure sign of this is that, unlike so many other South Asian restaurants, whose menus practically throw the kitchen sink at you, here, the owners are solely focusing on quality rather than quantity.

Right off the bat, you have the very exciting Breakfast Specials, with a couple of items, such as the Haleem and Paya, you’re unlikely to find at other places.

Of course, there’s the quintessential dishes of freshly made paratha , chick peas, and a selection of omelette-based items, all of which can be enjoyed with deeply brewed Karak Chai or Coffee.

Then there’s the trio of meal boxes that are part of their Lunchtime Specials which aren’t just a convenient grab’n’go option, but given the sheer quantity of food included therein, ridiculously affordable at just £7.99 each.

With indoor seating for 40 guests, there’s also a couple of tables outside where you can enjoy a variety of flavourful curries from their Evening Specials, including Butter Chicken, and a Charsi Karahi Special, during these warm summer evenings.

In addition, there’s a number of Wraps, with two deserving special mention: the famous Chapli Kebab, and the Currito that’s full of fluffy Pakistani rice and succulent meat.

This place wouldn’t be complete without Karahi Wala’s Mixed Grill comprising of the Chapli Kebab, Lamb Tikka, Chicken Tikka, and Lamb Chops; all of which can be enjoyed with a Mango Lassi or a refreshing glass of Nimbu Pani, with Gulab Jamun and ice cream as a dessert to round things off.
