P.F. Chang’s in London goes ‘100% Halal’?

None of our dishes contain any alcohol – P.F. Chang’s

Following the opening of P.F. Chang’s first UK restaurant in London , FtL has been informed that its branch in Soho is now “100% Halal”, although pork is available on the menu.

While the US brand initially began by introducing only Halal chicken to its impressive menu, the Covent Garden site has confirmed: “Yes, our meat is now 100% halaal!”

The 138-cover eatery had already acknowledged that the preparation of all its Halal dishes was done entirely separately from any pork on the menu, with zero risk of any cross-contamination.

An American house-hold name, P.F. Chang’s has over 280 worldwide sites, including in the Middle East and Asia, but only this month launched its hugely popular Asian-themed casual dining experience to Europe.

The choice of going fully Halal will be welcomed by the Capital’s large Muslim community of over a million.

While P.F. Chang’s has also confirmed that “none of our dishes contain any alcohol”, it would be advisable to check with members of staff, before putting in an order, whether others might contain any pork-based ingredients.

What makes the London branch unique from its US counterpart is the introduction of brunch, such as the ‘Everything Bao’ – sliced smoked salmon and boiled egg in a honey lotus bun.

New lunch and dinner options will also be available for the British palate, including the Fish and Lotus Chips – crispy black cod tossed with spring onion, ginger and black bean with a side of lotus crisps.

Other dishes to look out for would be its signature Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps – “a secret Chiang family recipe”.
