Smash to donate all proceeeds one Friday every month
A fully Halal burger joint in east London has pledged to donate all proceeds to a charity one Friday every month for the foreseeable future.
Smash in Forest Gate announced yesterday that this Friday 26 February all its takings will be forwarded to help civilians suffering in war-torn Syria.
For their first charity drive, the brand on Green Street will be working with local charity Abdullah Aid, which operates on a “100% donation policy” and who run a number of aid projects in Syria and other parts of the Middle East.
The restaurant said on Instagram: “So we made a pledge that the next business we open, we’re going to dedicate one Friday of each month (every month), to donate our full TAKINGS (full proceeds) of THAT day to the charities that we’ll be working with for as long as Smash is running (forever InshaAllah).
“So this Friday, as our first charity night, we have decided to work with Abdullah Aid to fundraise for the Syria Winter Appeal InshaAllah.”
While the HMC-certified eatery specialises in Smash Angus burgers, they also appear to serve a number of McDonald’s-inspired sandwiches too including the Quarter Pounder, The Mac, and a Fish Fillet.
Smash appealed: “Please please please if you’re eating out this Friday make sure it’s at SMASH as your money will be helping someone out there in Syria InshaAllah.”
