An east London sushi bar, which began as a pop-up shop in a burger restaurant during lockdown, is now preparing to move to its very own premises.

Having started out in Band of Burgers on Osborne Street in 2021, The Sushi Bar will soon be taking over from Arte d’Italia a few doors down.

“Alhamdulillah, by the grace and blessings of Allah SWT, we have a new location for The Sushi Bar Brick Lane.

“The journey began during lockdown, when I opened my first pop up shop inside of Band of burgers. Alhamdulillah, we are now moving to our own restaurant with more seating,” the owner announced on Instagram.

After thanking the owners of Band of Burgers, Rahena, who makes up one half of the husband and wife team behind the business, gave “A MASSIVE THANK YOU to my husband and staff for their dedication and hard work” as well as “to all the loyal customers who have been supporting us from the start”.

While it is early days, The Sushi Bar, which is known for its attractive hand-rolled Temakis, Uramaki rolls, Nigiris, and Sashimis, added that it “will be temporarily closed for refurbishments and other essential building works”.
