All of us as businesses, families, and individuals, now need to come together to show our support.

Indian wrap company Zabardast has successfully raised over a £1000 to provide healthy meals to NHS heroes “selflessly risking their lives at local hospitals to protect us”

Specialising in Halal paratha-wraps, the London brand promised to match every £5 donation given to deliver a £10 meal entirely free to three participating NHS hospitals.

Having achieved the target of a grand within 12 days via crowd-funding site Just Giving, owner Neelofer Khan expressed: “Feel so overwhelmed to see the love and generosity of our community for the NHS heroes.”

Describing the first food drop-off to St. Helier Hospital in South London’s Carshalton as “emotional”, Zabardast will also be delivering their meals to “hardworking NHS hero[es]” at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill and Croydon University Hospital.

Zabardast said: “Our NHS heroes are under more pressure now than in the first lockdown, as they not only struggle to treat the mounting wave of patients, but have gone that extra mile to ensure that our elderly parents and the most ‘at risk’ groups are quickly vaccinated.

“All of us as businesses, families, and individuals, now need to come together to show our support.”
