Located on Bread St. near Edinburgh Castle

With its interior having been inspired by American roadside diners of yesteryear, this spacious 60-cover restaurant is stylishly decked out with comfortable boothed seating.

Fatt Boyz offer smash burgers, chicken burgers, Fatass burgers, Texas-style brisket, dirty fries, a Chicken Stop section that includes chicken and waffles, and Big Boy boxes, with desserts to boot.

Fatt Boyz stand out with their innovative menu

What truly sets Fatt Boyz apart is not just the exciting variety on their fully Halal menu, but also their flair for innovation.

They recently introduced a new item called the UFO which ingeniously has the burger bun toasted around the filling to form the shape of a flying saucer.

Fatt Boyz latest out-of-this-world UFO sandwich, £10.95

In the case of this epic sandwich, the filling comprised of a smashed patty topped with melted American cheese, pickles, onions, and an irresistible house special sauce.

Carrying on the theme of sandwiches, then while the Bombay Bad Boy below may appear more traditional, its strong desi flavours are anything but.

Bombay Bad Boy indeed! This desi-sandwich smacks hard, £10.95

A thin, juicy layer of chicken patty, rich in spice and bearing the tender, crumbly texture of a minced kebab, is what defined this item, and made even better by the chilli-mint sauce and melted American cheese.

With spicy dipped burgers being all the rage these days, the Fatt Boyz version – the Dipped Hot Chick for £9.95 – doesn’t just look the part, but it’s also one of their most popular items.

Dipped Hot Chick – buttermilk fried chicken dipped in a spicy sauce, £9.95

After a large fillet of buttermilk fried chicken is thoroughly doused in a tangy spicy sauce, it’s drapped in American cheese, covered in crunchy red onions, and a house special sauce to deliver a superb burger.

Coming with a choice of either a pair of tenders or wings, the waffles are pillowy soft on the inside, light and crispy on the out, and drizzled in a sweet maple syrup.

Another item that helps this brand stand out from the rest is the Smashstar Fries, which are essentially uber-crispy waffle fries that come with an assortment of goodies.

Chicken & Waffles, all freshly made to order, £7.95

These are essentially loaded fries, topped with smashed pulled brisket, plenty of nacho cheese sauce to satisfy, and chilli salsa, red onions, onion chives, and grated mozzarella cheese to balance things out perfectly.

Diners might also like to pair any of the above with the lusciously thick Nutella Strawberry Milkshake for £5.95, which has Ferrero Rocher, Flake and strawberries all perfectly blended with vanilla ice cream and topped with ice cream.

Given how good Fatt Boyz are, while conveniently being located just around the corner to Edinburgh Castle, be sure to give them a visit as a matter of priority when in town.
