Halal Japanese The Sushi Co launches site in Brighton
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalThe Sushi Co has grown its regional footprint by opening a restaurant in Brighton.
Joining its sites in Brentwood and Colchester, the Japanese brand has opened on Western Road making this its 21st location.
With another 18 in London, The Sushi Co is led by former large-scale Papa John’s franchisee Raheel Choudhary, who has also secured a flagship location site in Cambridge.
The brand’s owner has also confirmed that the entire menu of cold and hot appetisers, drinks, plenty of sushi rolls, as well as hot dishes and desserts, is fully Halal.
Although Japanese sushi chefs traditionally use a wheat based soy sauce, which can contain a small percentage of alcohol due to the process of fermentation, The Sushi Co has sourced both a wheat- and gluton-free soy sauce.
Aside from a good range of Hosomaki, Uramaki, Nigiri, Sashimi, Tataki, and Futo Maki, watch out for their Super Mix sushi box, as well as large Prawn Pokebowl, and a number of hot meals like Chicken Stir Fried Noodles.
