Having opened in November of last year, Sip ‘n’ Spice has already acquired a formidable reputation for refined South Asian dishes served against a backdrop of stunning, meticulously crafted decor.

While seating is available downstairs for 38 diners, which includes a terrace area complete with a retractable awning at the front for a dozen, their main dining room upstairs is lavishly designed.

With a huge chandelier as a centre piece, not only can 52 guests be accommodated for, but there’s also a private room with a round table for seven.

With everything made fresh and in-house, this restaurant is committed to combining the modern with the traditional as it seeks to serve exciting, innovative food.

These Beetroot & Cheese Croquettes exemplify the culinary innovation at Sip ‘n’ Spice, where familiar ingredients are reimagined with refined technique and elegant presentation to create a truly high-end fine dining experience.

Its crispy exterior delivered a satisfying crunch, with its rich, creamy cheese filling marrying beautifully with the earthy sweetness of roasted beetroot, and complemented by a tangy chutney, which added balance and depth to every bite.

Sip ‘n’ Spice also offer some superbly curated selection of mocktails that focus on distinctive flavour combinations rather than an extensive drinks menu.

From the light and effervescent Coconut Soda, and the delicately aromatic Saffron Breeze, to the gentle heat of the Mango Heatwave, each creation brings its own character.

Served alongside a tomato and date spiced relish, the Beef Bombs balance hearty, comforting flavours with a subtle sweetness and gentle warmth.

What we have here are golden, crisp bread shells encasing tender slow-cooked pulled beef, and which deliver a rich and deeply savoury filling with every bite.

These hand-rolled Lamb Seekh Kebabs were infused with fresh herbs and spices, and expertly grilled to a delicately soft finish.

A solid level of heat ran through these, with the mint and coriander sauce adding a refreshing lift and extra seasoning, complemented by the crisp freshness of the kachumber-like side.

A slow-braised lamb shank indeed, with the meat falling effortlessly from the bone, and covered in a lightly spiced, vibrant tomato-based sauce.

Deep, warming flavours defined this dish, with the aromatic spices enhancing the lamb’s natural richness to create a comforting and satisfying centrepiece.

Succulent prawns and tangy raw mango are simmered in a creamy coconut gravy, creating a dish that balances richness with a bright, refreshing acidity.

The sweetness of the coconut complements the delicate seafood beautifully, while the raw mango adds a distinctive Kerala-inspired character and depth of flavour.

And to finish off proceedings, Sip ‘n’ Spice offer a quartet of exquisitely conceived desserts, including this unique Masala Chai Tiramisu that had that unmistakable taste of the chai positively infused into those moist fingers.

In short, this is one restaurant around Manchester that’s genuinely worth travelling for. The food is outstanding, the flavours are beautifully executed, and the whole experience feels like fine dining without losing the authenticity of the cuisine.
