Having only last month launched their first kiosk in Essex’s Lakeside shopping centre, Afrikana now open a large restaurant in Bristol (credit: Zaman Siddiqui).

The brand celebrated the grand opening of a double-storey building (their ninth in all) on Baldwin Street with live African drummers last week.

Afrikana has informed FtLion: “We are a fully certified Halal place; all our meals are Halal,” before adding: “None of our stores serve alcohol.”

Beginning its journey in the small village of Aldridge back in 2018, Afrikana’s menu of authentic homecooked African-inspired dishes includes an assortment of burgers, wraps, chickens and specials, plus sharing platters inspired by food from Kenya, Botswana, and Ethiopia.

While they also have venues in Derby, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Blackburn, further stores are expected in London’s Mile End, Hounslow, and Ilford, as well as in Manchester and Coventry.
