Chaiiwala raises the game in Manchester’s Cheetham HillSPONSORED CONTENT HALAL STATUS Fully Halal FREE ITEM Butter Chicken Omelette with all orders over £10 by quoting: ‘FtLion’ (valid till: 30 Sept 2022)
When it comes to the UK’s Halal food and drinks scene, Chaiiwala are as much a household name as any other brand in the UK.
While often been imitated but never equalled, they are the pioneers behind what has now become a lucrative Indian karak tea trend.
As the UK’s leading Indian street food brand, Chaiiwala don’t just boast over 50 stores across the country, but are on the verge of making their big debut in the United Arab Emirates’ Dubai Hills Mall.
As for this particular 36-cover store in Manchester’s Cheetham Hill on Bury Old Road, then not only does it neatly divide this city from Salford, but also flaunts the same elegant design, including those low-hanging vintage pendant bulbs, which hallmark all of Chaiiwala’s attractive venues.
The secret to their success, however, isn’t just how delightfully varied their menu is, but how they’re constantly evolving their food and drinks items by pushing the boundaries of innovation.
Did you know, for instance, that Cheetham Hill’s branch is the first and currently only one to serve what has fast become their most popular dish: the Butter Chicken Omelette?
Chaiiwala’s diverse desi menu requires little introduction
Of course, Chaiiwala’s beverages is where it’s all at, particularly with their hot drinks comprising of Indian brewed teas infused in four ways – Cinnamon, Karak, Mint, and Saffron – as well as their Chaii Latte, Garam Chocolate, and Karak Coffee.
When you include their iced teas of Lemon Ice Chaii, and Limbu Pani; or the more daring duo of milky Mango, and Rose flavoured Faloodas, you’ll be left spoiled for choice.
But it’s their Indian street food snacks, and the sheer variety at that, which really excites, with a desi breakfast of omelette and roti being paired with either spicy beans or lentils, and a cup of rich Karak Chai; or an omelette wrap that’s filled to the brim with various scrumptious fillings.
Speaking of rotis and wraps, apart from the Classic, why not upgrade to either a cheese roll, or if you want something more crunchy, then their handmade fried Tareli roti.
For lunch, there’s plenty of Street Food choices that comprise of said Butter Chicken Roti; Chilli cubes of tender Paneer; Masala or Mogo Chips, the latter being fried cassava coated in a sticky-cum-smoky gazebo sauce; a Pav Bhaji vegetable curry with buttered baap-style soft bread; or veggie samosas that come with a tangy tamarind sauce.
If you’re impressed so far, then their desserts will have you cartwheeling, with their pair of Sundaes – Gajar Halwa or Gulab Jamun – both layered with vanilla ice cream and plenty of whipped cream.
And while the classical Indian sweets of Gulab Jamun and Gajar Halwa are available, the more unique items of a smooth Choc Chai Mousse, or a creamy Gajar Halwa Cheesecake, might be tempting if you can look past the Nutella Wrap.
When considering the above, is it any wonder why Chaiiwala is now an international brand with cafes located across the shore in Canada’s Ontario and Abbotsford?
