Ecco Pizzeria risks business with new fundraising ‘Palestine Pizza’
Ecco stands with the innocent people of Palestine. The murder and displacement of thousands of innocents must STOP.
A Halal pizza brand says it risks losing customers by introducing the ‘Palestine Pizza’ this Saturday 21st October to help “raise funds for our brothers and sisters in Palestine”.
With branches in Leeds and Manchester, Ecco Pizzeria says it “stands with the innocent people of Palestine” and will be donating all proceeds made from the sale of this new half metre-long pizza to charity.
“Because of our geographical location, we stand to lose a lot of customers, but we cannot and will not let that stop us,” a member of Ecco Pizzeria told FtLion.
But it continued: “We can’t stand by and watch! We have committed all profits from the Palestinian pizza to MAP, who are on the ground, and will get aid to the Palestinians however they can.
“A hospital has been bombed; and prior to this, Amnesty International released evidence (available on their X feed) of the use of white phosphorus. We are living in a time where a whole nation is at the brink of being wiped off the face of this earth.”
The Neapolitan pizza brand will donate to charity MAP (Medical Aid for Palestine) to help support children and families affected by the ongoing conflict.
The Palestine Pizza “reflects the beautiful culture and traditions of Palestine”, the business posted on Instagram, with ingredients that include “caramelised sumac onions, pulled sumac chicken, toasted pine nuts, jalapeño, coriander and tahini drizzle, cherry tomatoes and olives”.
