One of the UK’s leading Uyghur restaurants says it has secured the talents of a 3-Michelin chef to help take its new London site in Marylebone “to a whole new level”.

Karamay will be soft opening its swanky third branch, Karamay Original Pasta as it’s been named, in Great Castle Street just off Oxford Street either tomorrow or in the coming week.

Having formed a brand new Board of Directors, the brand’s 65-cover venue will maintain the delivery of hand-pulled pasta while aiming to “stay ahead of the curve”.

“It has been an incredible journey, and we could not have done it without your support and our dedicated team, who have worked tirelessly to bring you the best dining experience possible and strive to maintain the ‘Ceiling of Xinjiang Cuisine’,” Karamay told FtLion.

And Karamay Original Pasta’s 3-Michelin Executive Chef is…?

Karamay has also informed FtLion that its new and improved menu will be “led by our newly-arriving Michein 3-star Executive Chef”, who will be named at a later date.

This sizeable, fully Halal food menu will include Chef Special’s like Original Beef Ravioli, Pilaf with Braised Lamb Shank, and Grilled Lamb Skewers, as well as Hand-Pulled Pasta such as Penne Ribeye Sauce, Original Tenderloin Fungus Spaghetti, and Original Linguine with Lamb Ribs, among others.

While alcohol will be served at Karamay Original Pasta, the new setup will include a loyalty program that rewards clients both old and new.

Having first opened their doors in Leicester City back in 2015, FtLion reviewed Karamay’s London Hackney branch in 2021 (rated 4.5/5) before it relocated to Tower Bridge’s New London Street.
