Nargis Kapuri Pan (Kenyan) – Southall
It’s essentially an African inspired eatery that does a number of Kenyan dishes.
The decor’s a little dated and in urgent need of a facelift.
But, as the name indicates, they have a huge selection of pan fillings to choose from following the meal.
It’s certainly apart from the rest of the Indian and Pakistani cuisines dominating this area. So if you’re looking for something different then this might be the place.
RECOMMENDED: Oh yeah! This is another one of those little gems you find now and again when taking a risk with a restaurant.
Recommended by the very friendly waitress who, despite her command, or lack thereof, of the English language, just about persuaded us to give this a go.
Glad we did coz this hit the taste buds. Slightly tangy with a hint of chili in the background. The unique flavour combo with these made for an impressive opening. Great starter.
Not sure about this one.
Slightly bland TBH. Just didn’t have that… umph, ye know?
Can’t go wrong with these two mains.
Nothing to rave over, that’s to say, nothing you wouldn’t have already had tried before; just good tasty, hearty grill and chicken.
People in the trade and serious pan eaters say this is the best pan you can get (with a variety of flavours), and after trying it, we concur.
More importantly, the leaf was very fresh.
Overall, highly recommend.

If you seasoned Indo/Pak restaurateurs want something different from the run-of-the-mill, might wanna try this one.
HEALTH WARNING: Avoid the seats at the far end of the joint (under the TV). Too narrow; only supported half my backside.
