The boys behind the Smoky Boys are preparing to open an Indian restaurant in Essex later this month.

Brothers Sharif and Mansoor Rahman and business partner Hiron Miah are preparing to launch 130-cover eatery Navateet in Brentwood.

Although an opening date is yet to be announced, the man heading the kitchen will be two AA Rosettes chef Steve Gomes who was behind the now defunct Dusk also in Brentwood.

Speaking to FtLtion, Sharif revealed: “We’ve been in the restaurant trade for three generations, with my grandfather having a restaurant in Chelsea since 1962 until 2015. Then my father decided to sell it.”

While this resulted in the opportunity of the Smoky Boys concept being born, the Rahman brothers return to the Indian restaurant scene will see them come full circle.

The menu will feature classical Indian dishes of the Mughal era with starters that may include Paneer Akbari Tikka, Pudina Lamb Chops, and Darjeeling Momos.

While mains will include dishes like Bamboo Chicken Changrezi, a Lucknowi dish of spiced Oxtail cooked in a clay pot called Dumghazah, Tangra Duck, and Goan Venison Vindaloo.
