Comptoir Libanais reopens Shawa Lebanese Grill in WestfieldHALAL STATUS Fully Halal
If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that relationships are so important – Chaker Hanna, Comptoir Libanais CEO
Shawa Lebanese Grill will be making its return to Westfield London this month after a long layoff due to lockdown.
Creators of the shawarma bar concept, Kitous and Comptoir Libanais CEO Chaker Hanna, were forced to reevaluate their business strategy soon after closing.
While their site in Kent’s Bluewater Shopping Centre is still going strong, the duo are hoping that reopening in Westfield’s food court will be the first step back on the expansion trail.
Shawa says its aim is to change the perception of the shawarma by shaking off the reputation of a 3am post night club kebab.
Its menu features traditional shawarma dishes, featuring tender lamb shoulder and chicken breast, vegetarian options, as well as new burgers based on authentic foods and flavour.
Chaker Hanna said: “We’re delighted to be opening Shawa Lebanese Grill in Westfield, who we have a great relationship with already, and to be bringing our family-friendly shawarma concept back to London.
“If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that relationships are so important. It’s good relationships with our staff, suppliers, landlords, banks and sites like Westfield which have meant we are able to come out of last year with a view to keep on growing the Comptoir Group, and this starts with the opening of Shawa.”
With 24 Comptoir Libanais sites, which offer a Halal all-day dining experience and healthy and fresh food, the group also owns Yalla Yalla and Kenza.
1 Ariel Way, Westfield Shopping Centre, London W12 7SL.
