The popular African brand from the Midlands Afrikana Kitchen will be making its London debut later today with a limited opening discount.

Located on Kingsland High Street in Dalston, the fully Halal establishment will be offering its first 10 customers 25% off when doors open at 3pm.

The 108-cover restaurant has confirmed with FtLion: “We are a fully certified Halal place; all our meals are Halal,” while adding: “None of our stores serve alcohol.”

The restaurant, which began its journey in 2018 in the small village of Aldridge, will be serving authentic homecooked African-inspired dishes.

The menu is an assortment of wraps, chickens, burgers, and Specials, with dishes like their inhouse ‘We “Goat” Your Back’, as well as ‘Island Fish and Chips’ with deep fried fresh cod coated in their Afrikana seasoning.

Otherwise there’s some impressive sharing platters for 2-3 people with a trio of options inspired by food from Kenya, Botswana, and Ethiopia.

With established restaurants in Birmingham, Derby, Cardiff, and Blackburn, they will be looking to open further sites in Barkingside, Stoke-On-Trent, and Middlesborough this year.
