Award-winning Shawarma King opens 2nd site in Glasgow

The award-winning Shawarma King has opened its second kebab house in the city of Glasgow.
The eatery has launched inside owner Majed Badrekhan’s other business Kings Lounge – a shisha place – on Paisley Road, with the shawarma place having a side entrance.
Shawarma King, which has successively won Scotland’s Best Kebab House 2022 and 2023, already has a presence in King Street.
“This shop is around nine years old, and we are all family,” Badrekhan told the Glasgow Times, adding: “Me and my four brothers work in there, and my dad.
“We are from Syria – we started to work here when we arrived in Glasgow, and this shop was the best place for us to all work together. We all have experience and we already had our recipes.”
Their sit-in menu comprises shawarma meals, classic wraps, as well as hot and cold starters, and main courses among other things.
