If there’s one brand that kickstarted the UK’s now popular trend of Halal McDonald’s- and Burger King-inspired restaurants, it’s Slamburger in Birmingham.

First opening in 2012 as ‘Slam’ on Muntz Street in Small Heath, this fully Halal burger franchise now boasts eight restaurants across the country.

And the burger fast food business hasn’t looked back since, having launched in 2020 a second Birmingham site, this time in Alum Rock, before opening in Luton in the same year.

Growing from strength to strength, they started 2021 with a bang by launching in Buckinghamshire’s affluent Aylesbury followed soon thereafter by one in Reading, swiftly followed by their Wales debut earlier this month with a branch in Cardiff’s City Road.

And the secret to their success? Slamburger says what separates them from the crowd is their commitment towards their 3-core strategies: Quality, Rapidity, and Customer Service.

With an exceptionally designed, modern interior that’s clean and vibrant, the business’ quality revolves around all its restaurants maintaining a full 5-star hygiene rating.

The sheer variety of burgers, ranging from their Burger King-oriented Flame Grilled to their McD-inspired Big Slam and Cheeseburgers, and which have been enjoyed by thousands of dedicated diners since 2012, attests to this brand’s focus on ‘rapidity’.

Meticulous care goes into serving a dazzling selection of sandwiches that revolve around 100% beef patties, such as: 45g patties in their famous Cheeseburger, the Giant Max, and the Big Slam • 90g patties in their Wooper and Royal Smokey • and Grand Slams made of 6.25 inch buns containing 180g patties.

Slamburger are always striving to stay ahead of the competition too, with items that either cannot be found on the menu of their copycats, such as the Burger King-inspired Supreme Burgers, or are not available even at McDonald’s and Burger King, like their exclusive breads, selection of kebabs, and popular Grand Slams (6.25 inch burgers).

What’s more, this innovatory brand continues to raise the bar with new items being added to their excitingly varied menu periodically, including the recent introduction of the Spicy and OG Chicken Doner Kebab range in the form of a pair of wraps and sandwiches, both of which are stuffed with succulent pieces of chicken doner that have proved very popular.

But perhaps one factor that places their restaurants head and shoulders above their many attempted facsimiles, is the family environment, with comfortable boothed seating; emphasis on cleanliness, particularly during this Covid period; and most importantly, an interactive kids corner, which in the case of this particular store offers child-friendly gaming tablets to compliment their monthly-themed kids menus.

Last but least, to round off their comprehensive menu, we would be remiss not to mention their collection of desserts, with tiramisus, cheesecakes, milkshakes and sundaes.

With a focus on further UK expansion in 2022, Slamburger’s long term goal is to go international, with interest already received from places like Ireland and Germany.
