The former head chef of the popular casual steakhouse Cristina’s in Barking has opened a new street food-style eatery in the heart of east London’s creative hub Hackney Wick.

Tiberius Tudor, or Tibi as he’s more commonly known and who’s “passionate about flavour, meat and smoke”, has gone solo with the launch of Holy Smoke & Burgers.

Although the Colour Factory’s first food court in Queens Yard is essentially a beer garden, Tibi’s menu isn’t just fully Halal, but he’s also confirmed with us that “smoked brisket [is] coming in a few weeks”.

For the moment, therefore, the menu is limited to Smoke Beef Hot Dog topped with Chimmichurri; an Ultra-Smashed Double Cheeseburger with house pickle and red onion; Smoked Cornflake buttermilk Chicken with slaw; and Rosemary Fries.

And with smoked meat experts like Smoke & Bones and The Halal Meaters, the competition has hotted up even more with Holy who are currently “set up primarily as a cloud delivery service for east London”.
