Maki & Ramen make big Newcastle debut in Eldon Square

A Japanese sushi and noodle concept that started in Scotland has launched its first restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Maki & Ramen has introduced its ramens, sushi, and donburis to Eldon Square with a huge new restaurant.
With 12 restaurants now, they have another four in Edinburgh, three in Glasgow, two in Manchester, and one each in Leeds and Leicester.
Although alcohol is served on the menu, they offer Halal options which, apart from their chicken gyoza, includes all other chicken items as well as beef, all of which “are sourced exclusively from reputable Halal-certified suppliers”.
In terms of preparation, they add: “Our kitchen staff receive specialised training to prepare Halal dishes separately from non-Halal items, preventing cross-contamination and maintaining the integrity of your meal.”
The Halal options offered are a Steak and Chicken Ramen, plenty of sides, a number of Donburi and Yakisoba, while all their sushi are Halal which includes the vinegar and mirin used therein.
