We decided right from the start that we would be sourcing premium produce. We do not want to give something to someone we wouldn’t have ourselves.

A newly married couple will be introducing an exciting range of bubble teas to Balsall Heath in Birmingham tomorrow.

The quirky named NaughTEA Boba will be celebrating its grand opening at noon with a massive 50% off all items during the weekend.

With bubble tea being the one concept missing on the Halal-dominated stretch of Ladypool Road, the husband and wife team behind the new brand are optimistic of success.

“There’s no competition in this area,” says Faizah, who’s been busily juggling life as a newlywed with the opening of the couple’s very first food venture.

“My husband and I love bubble tea,” Faizah declares while revealing that she’s also working a full time IT job in London where she’s originally from.

While husband Hasan is from Birmingham, he said that although they’ve only been married 5-months, the couple couldn’t pass up the opportunity of securing the small premises despite him also working full time in finance.

More impressively, all their selection of teas are going to be freshly made on-site 7-days a week, with the duo refusing to compromise on the quality of the syrups and the toppings of Boba, Jelly, and Tapioca.

They’ve also gone the extra mile in the preparation of their teas with the water used therein being filtered once, while the water used for their ice being filtered twice over.

“If you visit some bubble tea shops in London, you’ll find that many of them compromise on quality,” said Hasan, adding: “We decided right from the start that we would be sourcing premium produce. We do not want to give something to someone we wouldn’t have ourselves.”

And what a range of drinks there are too, with three types: Specials (9x), Fruit Teas (7x), and Milk Teas (11x) – all of which can be had in two sizes, regular or large, with the toppings coming in a variety of flavours.

The Specials are especially exciting, with innovative flavours that include: Dirty Brown Sugar (Faizah’s personal fave), Jammy Dodger (yup, you read that right), Mango Panna Cotta, and even Creme Brulee.

As for the Fruit Teas then there’s strawberry, apple, lychee, mango, and passion fruit, while their Milk Teas comprise of flavours like classic milk, honeydew, rose, taro, matcha, Thai, Hong Kong, to name but a few.

For the future, Faizah and Hasan are looking forward to introducing some more unique teas including Red Velvet, as well as an exclusive Falooda drink in Ramadan later this year.
